Safely Store Your Important Documents and Valuables
Mid American Credit Union offers safe deposit boxes for rental at the main branch at 8404 W. Kellogg Drive.  Safe deposit boxes are ideal for keeping a variety of items safe from theft or damage in a fire or flood.  For most people, the most important items are documents.  These are papers to which you don’t often need to refer and are difficult to replace.  Safe deposit boxes are also ideal for storing small family heirlooms that cannot be replaced.

Annual pricing with Direct Deposit Checking account.

Items for safe deposit box:

  • Stock and bond certificates
  • Original copies of birth, marriage, and death certificates
  • Adoption, divorce, and child custody papers
  • Deed to your house
  • Military discharge papers
  • Photographs and/or videotape of your home’s contents
  • Written home inventory
  • Rare coins
  • Jewelry

Other documents should never be kept in a safe deposit box, which might be sealed at the time of death.

Items NOT for Safe Deposit Box:

  • Original wills
  • Original life insurance polices

(copies may be kept in a safe deposit box)

It may be helpful to keep an inventory list of what is in your box with your keys at home in a safe place.  When you put something in or take something out, record doing so on your inventory list.

Mid American offers three sizes of safe deposit boxes:

3x10 $20 per year
5x10 $30 per year
10x10 $50 per year

Sizes are height x width; all boxes are 21.5" long. Pricing applicable to members with Direct Deposit Checking. Add $10 to each without.
